Before starting work, I carried out a full survey of the area. The business needed space to install a new commercial sign safely, but access was blocked by overgrown bushes. I checked for electric cables, bird nests, and other wildlife to make sure the work could be done responsibly and without risk.

Careful cutting back was needed to clear the area for the new sign. With underground cables close by, I had to work with precision — one wrong cut could have damaged the electrics or caused a safety hazard. The goal was to create a safe, clear zone where the business could install their new sign.

The entire business site — including the fire muster point — was covered in thick layers of fallen leaves. This created a serious slip hazard, especially in an emergency where staff may need to gather quickly. Wet leaves can easily cause slips and trips, putting people at risk and breaching basic health and safety standards. We captured this section as an example before clearance began.
